San Diego County has some of the richest resources for gardeners in the country. Much of its agriculture is specialty horticulture, very special garden plants grown by small and large local nurseries. Many are seldom open to the public. Additionally, there are scores of garden clubs and specialized plant societies with extremely knowledgeable members, who an answer all kinds of questions. Come, take advantage of the Garden Marketplace filled with local San Diego nurseries, growers and plant lovers. These are the people growing the plants right here in our region. San Diego Horticultural Society

Come say hello at the show! We don’t even care if you have a black thumb. We’re unabashed plant nuts who love to learn about them, talk about them, and meet new people to love plants, too. We welcome everyone who shares our interest, from beginner to professional, because we love to share our passion.

This year we are sponsoring the seminars at the show and will be found inside the Bing Crosby Building with the Garden Masters. We’ll be bringing lots of plants to share and would love to tell you about them.

We will also be selling our book Ornamental Trees for Mediterranean Climates. It’s full of wonderful trees that thrive in San Diego. And, we publish a fabulous newsletter for members.

The San Diego Horticultural Society began in 1994 and our membership is well over a thousand.

The San Diego Horticultural Society meets at the Satellite Wagering Facility at the Del Mar Fairgrounds on the second Monday of every month except June, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Admission and parking are free to members ($10 for guests). There is one extra special paid meeting per year.

In addition to great speakers, lively plant forums and monthly plant drawings, meetings are an opportunity to mingle with other plant lovers of all kinds, from single species enthusiasts to nursery owners, new gardeners to professional breeders.
