San Diego, Calif., Bid farewell to gardening goofs and contractor catastrophes, the producers of the upcoming Spring Home/ Garden Show are proud to announce an extensive roster of free, informative seminars and roundtable discussions at this year’s exciting 21st annual event!
Aimed at giving attendees the opportunity to learn firsthand from a panel of seasoned professionals, this year The Spring Home/Garden Show will bring together some of San Diego County’s most recognized home and garden specialists to share money-saving renovation advice and expert gardening tips.
With over 20 presentations taking place throughout the weekend of March 3, 4, & 5, 2006, visitors to the show will be able learn essential tips on topics from plant care to garden design. In addition, a range of roundtable discussions with a select group of building and construction professionals will focus on how to successfully create a dream home and garden.
From communicating clearly with contractors to knowing which questions at all stages of a renovation or landscaping project, the show’s experts will share their knowledge on the most common home renovation problems, how others can avoid them and how to ensure beautiful, hassle free results. Speakers will include experts in the fields of horticulture, construction and design and will include Rene Van Rems, internationally renowned floral designer; Nan Sterman, garden writer, Steve Dalton, construction expert and American Institute of Architects member; Susi Torre Bueno of the San Diego Horticultural Society and Jason Kubrock of Quail Botanical Gardens. Home, garden and architecture expert and writer, Dirk Sutro, will mediate the roundtable discussions. Assembling 500 exhibitors showcasing an extensive range of home and garden products and services, The Spring Home/Garden Show is the perfect place to shop for inspiration for all kinds of home and garden projects. Don’t miss this unique opportunity meet and talk to a full range of contractors and home and garden specialists without driving all over the county! Specialty plants are available for purchase directly from growers at the event’s plant sale and members of the San Diego Horticultural Society will be available to answer planting and plant care questions. Attendees can also enjoy a relaxing stroll across the 5 acre show that includes the popular “Garden Masters” showcase of 23 stunning, theatrically lit gardens from San Diego’s most talented landscapers.
Hours are Noon – 7pm, Friday March 3, 10am - 7pm, Saturday March 4 and Sunday March 5, 2006, 10 am – 5 pm.
Admission is $12.00; children under 12 are free. Seniors receive special admission price of $6.00 on opening day only; half-priced tickets are available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday after 3pm. Free wheelchairs are available.
